Paint factor, coverage factor and contingency are locked as per your estimation sheet.

Result will appear here.

The locked factors are taken from your Excel estimator logic. Alkyd, waterborne, epoxy and polyurethane paint use a paint factor of 0.25. Heat resistance silver paint uses 0.30. Contingency is fixed at 20%.

Paint Quantity Calculation Guide

Paint quantity estimation is important in fabrication, pressure vessel manufacturing, tank painting, structural steel coating, piping work and industrial maintenance jobs. Correct paint weight helps with purchase planning, project costing, tender estimation and workshop execution.

This paint weight calculator uses surface area, DFT and paint type to estimate required paint quantity. The calculation includes a contingency factor to allow for practical site losses, application variation, overspray and wastage.

Actual paint consumption can change depending on surface preparation, primer condition, application method, spray loss, brush or roller efficiency, coating system and paint manufacturer recommendations. Always verify final coating requirements with the approved paint data sheet.
